BTCCSquare news:

Malaysia’s Energy Ministry has uncovered a staggering $1.1 billion in electricity theft linked to illegal cryptocurrency mining operations. From 2020 through August 2025, miners bypassed meters at 13,827 sites to power their rigs, siphoning resources from national utility TNB.

Authorities are deploying smart meters and conducting raids to combat the theft. Public awareness campaigns aim to curb the growing problem, which threatens grid stability and legitimate energy consumers.
